TRADE REVIEW.
STRONG OUTLOOK FOR WOOL. BREAK IN BUTTER VALUES. United Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, September 6. Holiday influence Avas felt to the full in commodity markets. Butter had a gloomy Aveek, Avith an entire absence of demand, accompanied by a sharp break in values. Holders became nerv ous, as, despite the sound statistical position, they are anxious co keep selling. Tooley Street merchants do not expect any turn in the market for at least a feAV Aveeks. Cheese, in contrast to butter, continues firm, though quiet, the undertone being sufficiently strong to warrant maintenance of present values. Bradford considers that the Australian wool sales have given a Aveleome and reassuring lead Avhich is most satisfactory, and avool is maintaining an even keel, despite international complications. The belief is that it is the most strongly placed of all raw materials. The “Yorkshire Post” states that various countries have tried to use less avool, yet the Avorld’s exported aggregate is steadily going into consumption. The outlook for the Loudon sales on September 15 is regarded as strong, especially in view of the brisk competition Avoolled sheepskins are now enjoying.
