A BIG LIFT.

AW ATE A HIGH AND DRY. WEIGHT OF 12,550 TONS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The biggest lift undertaken by the Jubilee floating dock was carried out this morning, when the Union Company’s new trans-Tasman liner Awatea was docked for painting and fitting, preparatory to entering the service between Sydney, Wellington and Auckland. The vessel will remain on the dock for three or four days. Her docking tonnage is 12,550, compared with her registered tonnage of 13,482.
