THE MANUKAU SEAT.
NATIONAL CANDIDATE TO STAND. (Ter Press Association.) AUCKLAND Sept. 3. The National Party will put a candidate in the field for the Manukau seat (made vacant by the resignation of Mr W. .T. Jordan), said Mr Lisle Alderton (chairman of the executive of the Auckland branch). “We expect to be in a position to announce him within a few days. He will be a good and strong man.” Mr Alderton said that the members of Parliament who would assist the campaign in Manukau for the party would be Messrs S. G. Holland (Christchurch North), J. Hargest (Awarua), and K. J. Holyoake (Motueka).
