TRICOLOUR FAIR.
SALVATION ARMY FUNDS. The result of many Aveelcs’ Avork on the part of numerous helpers AA r as seen at the Salvation Army Hall this afternoon, Avhen a tricolour fair to raise money for the local corps Avork Avas opened by Captain N. E. Bicknell. The stalls were prettily decorated and laden with saleable lines. The fair Avill be continued in the eA’ening, Avhen a programme of items will be presented.
A cookery competition in conjunction Avith the fair Avas judged by Mr J. Tait. The results are:— Pikelets (5): Miss Hansen 1, Mrs Stigley 2, Mrs H. Griffiths 3. Plain scones (5): Mrs Meaclem 1, Mrs Stigley 2. Cream cakes (4)Mrs Morns 1, Mrs Taylor 2. Cream horns (3): Mrs Morris 1. Sponge (3): Miss Thompson 1. Loaf (3): Mrs Meade 1.
The stall-holders Avere: — Drapery “Home League,” with Mesdames H. Taylor and A. Argyle as supervisors. Novelty— 4 ‘Legion Girls, M with Misses L. Donaldson and, V. Griffiths as supervisors. Siveets—“Sunbeams,” with Miss I. Jackson as supervisor. Cakes—Miss M. Pollock, Mrs H. Griffiths and, Miss M. Burgess. Counter Refreshments —Mrs Luseombe and Mrs Campbell. Produce—Mesdames A. Daly, F. Phelps, and Hill. Bookstall—Messrs J. Ford and IBaiiglien. Children’s Corner —Miss E. Pollock and Mrs Read.
