HOCKEY.
THE MEN’S SUB-ASSOCIATION. TEAMS TO PLAY CANTERBURY. The Management Committee of the Ashburton Men’s Hockey Sub-Associa-tion met last evening, when the president (Mr A. 0. Vincent) occupied the chair. The manager of the Ashburton team that won the Quatrebras Cup (Mr S. M. Cassidy) reported on the game, and it was decided to congratulate the team on its performance, and express to the Canterbury Hockey Association appreciation of the hospitality extended. Arrangements for the visit of the Canterbury representatives on Saturday were completed. Hie following teams will represent Ashburton:— ' A Team—Goal: E. Tinker. Backs: R. Horrill, G. Kelly. Half-backs: L. Snell, H. H. Pearce (captain), K. Oliver. Forwards: H. Harper, C. Corbett, W. Corbett, I. Stevenson, K.
Fowke. This team will play in black, the Association colours. B Team —Goal: O. Childs. Backs: J. Baker, A. C. Vincent (captain). Half-backs: J. Hamilton (Nomads), 11. Sloper, J. Midland. Forwards: W. Page, H. Wilson, J. Osborn, A. A. Anderson, Emergency: A. Stewart. The B team will play in blue, the Wakanui colours.
Primary Schools’ Team—Goal: A. Lewis. Backs: A. Loach, It. Bell. Half-backs: B. Oliver, G. Stayt, J. Bell. Forwards: A. Hooke, T. Swaney, B. Graham, C. Reid, Fowke. This team will play in white shirts. Any player not available is requested to advise the secretary as early as possible.
