Allen, in an interview with the Associated Press said: “I am looking forward to the trip immensely as indeed is every member of the team. They are a young .and keen side, and full of enthusiasm. I believe we will do much better than the pessimists in this country seem to think. Anyhow we will play interesting, good cricket. It may take a little time for some of the players to become acclimatised. Whether our howling will prove enough remains to be seen, but I am certain that the batting will be good and the fielding of the highest standard. The team to a man consists of those whom I would personally have selected and I am firmly of 'the opinion that it is going to be a happy tour, completely devoid of incident.” AUSTRALIAN BENEFIT MATCH.
