DEFENCE POLICY
SUPPORT FOR THE GOVERNMENT THE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE. ALL POSSIBLE ASSISTANCE. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce carried a resolution congratulating the Government on its determination to create without delay a fully effective defence system worthy of New Zealand, and undei taking to do all in its power to aid the Government in accelerating the defence system, both in regard to acquiring the necessary material and in training the country’s manhood. This resolution followed the adoption of a report by a sub-committee which examined different methods of defence and expressed the opinion; that the main safeguard against possible aggressive action was the manhood of the Dominion provided it was organised and trained for defence and assisted by air and naval strength.
