ASHBURTON WOMEN’S MATCH. NORTH OTAGO DEFEATED. In a fast, even hockey match on the Ashburton Domain on Saturday, the Ashburton women’s representative team beat North Otago by three goals to nil. There was a good deal of up and down play during the game, Ashburton having a slight advantage. The local forwards were more consistent than the visitors in circle play. A feature of the match was several snappy passing rushes by the forwards of both teams. The teams were: — Ashburton. Goal: K. McKay. Backs: A. Loach, M. Watson. Halves: W. Lowe, D. Fowke, R. ASHBURTON MEN’S MATCHES In a representative trial match played by the Ashburton Men’s Hockey Sub-Association on Saturday was won by the B team by seven goals to two. The goalkeeper originally selected for the A team was changed round to play for the other side, and brought off some wonderful saves, or else the result might have been different. The scorers for the B team were Page (three), Wilson (three), and Lees, and for the A team AY. Corbett (two). In the junior grade Ashburton defeated Baring Square. Quatitsbras Cup Match Team. The following team will represent Ashburton at Christchurch next Saturday in their match for the Quatrebras Cup:—Goal—E. Tinker. Backs—E. Horrill, G. Kelly. Halves —L. Snell, H. H.
