ELECTION TO BOARD.

THE TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL. MR J. H. HARPER NEW MEMBER. The counting cf a postal ballet for the election of a representative of school committees to the Ashburton Technical High School Board was completed by the returning officer (Mr W. Crawford) this morning. Mr J. H. Harper, of Timvald, was the successful candidate. Mr Harper will hold the seat on the .board for three years. The retiring school committees’ representative was Mr AV. G. Hillier, who did not seek reelection. There were three candidates, Mr L. A. Charles (Ashburton), and, Mr J. H. Briggs (Fairton), being unsuccessful.
