TWENTY-TWO MEN KILLED.

CANADIAN TRAIN HITS LORRY. (United Press Association —Copyright.) MONTREAL, August 15. A message from Louisville (Quebec) states that a freight brain cut its way through a truck full of people at a road crossing last night, killing 22 men and injuring 14. The lorry, which contained 40 persons who were returning from a provincial election meeting, caught fire while the train dragged it for three-quarters of a mile down the track. The bodies were strewn over the road. Fourteen died instantly, threeof the injured were incinerated and five others died later. Six persons were admitted to hospital with serious injuries.

Eye-witnesses declare that four other cars stopped for the train to pass. Edward Houle, driver of the truck, ignored She warning cries, speeding the lorry into the path of the train. Houle was killed.
