AUCKLAND, July 29
For the second time, John Middleton Hamlin-White, a clerk, aged 38, was convicted of having been in a state of intoxication while in charge of a car. The prosecution was the outcome of a collision with a safety zone in Queen Street at 5 p.m. on July 18.
The police said that defendant was alone in the ear. He was definitely intoxicated, but not drunk. He suffered a fractured ncse and was discharged! from hospital to-day. Defendant was fined £2O, plus expenses, in default one month’s imprisonment, and his license was cancelled for two years.
