WELLINGTON, July 29.

The Hen. W. Nash to-day announced the appointment of Mr Claude Marchant, of Stratford, as a Government member of the newly constituted Daily Board. He will hold office for three years.

Tributes to Mr C. P. Agar (the retiring Government nominee on the New Zealand Dairy Board) were paid by his colleagues and members of the Executive Commission of Agriculture at a farewell gathering in his’ honour. Mr A. J. Murdoch (chairman of the Board), presented Mr Agar with a case of pipes on behalf of members of the Board.
