London cablegram states that his Majesty the King gave an audience to Sir Michael Myers, Chief Justice of New Zealand.
Mr C. Clayton, goods clerk at the Ashburton Railway Station, has been transferred to Parnassus. He will leave to take up his new duties shortly.
Mr Norman Mclntosh, of Geraldine, and a former member of the Ashburton Baptist Church, gave an address at the church last evening on the mission work he will begin at China this yeai. Mr Mclntosh recently completed Ins course at the Bible Training Institute at Auckland.
A wedding of considerable interest was solemnised at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathe-dral, Wellington, by Canon Walter Bean, of Christchurch:, yesterday (says a Press Association message). T'ne bride was Miss Louise Isabelle, Qnly daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Dyer, e;f Wellington, and granddaughter of the late Mr Richard John Sodden, former Premier of New Zealand, and, the bridegroom was Mr Alexander Meintosh, of Bombay and England, son of the late Mr and Mrs Mclntosh, of Scotland.
