AUCKLAND, July 27. The New Zealand Insurance Company’s balance-sheet for the year ended May 31 shows a net income from premiums of £1,096,569 and an underwriting surplus of £95,347. Interests and rents total £117,448, making a grand total of £212,795. The sum of £50,000 has been transferred to: the reserve fund, and the directors recom—mend the payment of a, dividend of ls a. share, absorbing £75,000, making 2s a share for the year, leaving a. net balancel of £165,667 to be carried forwar .
