Strong representations have been made to the Japanese Embassy in London against the brutal treatment of Hussein, a British l Indian merchant, and his wife while under detention at Haiking, in Manchuria, by the Japanese authorities. Hussein, in addition to being beaten, was subjected to water torture.—British Official Wireless.
