LOSS OF RIGHT HAND. £IOOO AWARDED 1 TO BRICKLAYER. (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, July 17. Damages of £looo' were awarded in the Supreme Court- by Mr Justice Ostler this morning to Joseph Charles Hodgson, a bricklayer, who claimed £1227 from the Hume Pipe Company as compensation for the loss of the use of his right hand as a result of an accident at the Blenheim sewerage installation.

Plaintiff was in an excavation guiding a. heavy concrete cylinder to its place for a manhole when the tripod collapsed on top of him.
