NEW PLYMOUTH THEFT SEQUEL. United Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, July 17. William Ernest Hewins, aged 27, an electro-plater, has been extradited, and sailed to-day under the escort of Detective Kearney. Hewins was charged at Sydney with breaking into the shop of Laurence Hedges, at New Plymouth, and stealing rings and watches. He was further charged with receiving stolen goods, also with being a prohibited immigrant. At Hewins’s previous appearance in court, the police said it was understood that he had arrived from New Zealand as a stowaway.
