Since last report the potato market has firmed up and quotations at £8 Ts 6d a ton through store are 103 a ton dearer than they were a week ago. T'o-day’s shipment is light, and it is expected that before the end of the week merchants will have reduced’ their stocks. Latest reports from the south indicate a firmness at the producing end. There is a good demand at present for seed lines, and early sorts are having a. satisfactory turn-i over. The onion market“ is still being satis-

fied with supplies from Pukekohe and prices are unchanged at 8s 6d per cwt. Fowl wheat is offering more freely from the south, and merchants have lowered their charges 1d a. bushel, to SS 11d for graded lines, ungraded being from 1d to 4d less. The maize market is still chiefly supplied from South African purchases, though small consignments of new season’s local are now coming forward. Not being fully matured, they sell at a discbunt of 3d a. bushel. ENGLISH WHEAT QUOTATIONS. (United Press Association—Cnpyright) LONDON, June 15. There are two New Zealand exhibitors at the annual stud sheep Show, which will open in Sydney to-day. They are Mr Donald Grant, of Timaru, who is showing iCOrriedales and Border Leicesters, and Mr A. S. Elworthy, of Timaru, who is exhibiting Southdowns. This year’s entries are a. record.
