TOTAL OF 1567 EXHIBITS. 1 The 1936 Winter Show promoted by the Ashburton Fanciers’ Society, to be conducted in the Arcade and ad:joining premises to-morrow and on Friday, has established a record in re—gard to the number of entries which have been received. The total is 1567, compared with 1364 in 1935, and 1175 in 1934. This steady progress shows _the heightened interest that is being taken in the show in recent years, and the Sodety has every reason to be pleased with the support which has been forthcoming this year. Poultry exhibits will total 516 where there were 498 a year ago and 393 the year before that. Bantams and cage birds have declined, leaving the utility poultry classes to carry a, huge increase.

There has been a falling away? in rabbits. Last yezir there were 62, with 4.8 in 1934., but this year there are only 34.

Cats, also, have declined in numbers, the entries being 85, compared with 40 a year ago and 25 in the previous year.
