DOMINION DISPUTE ADJOURNED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 16. Conciliation proceedings todk place to—dziy in the painters’ and decorators’ application for a Dominion award. The employers opposed a 40-hour week, and the claim of 2s Gd an hour. They asked for an eight-hour day, to he worked between 7.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on week-days, and between 7.30 a.m. and noon on Saturdays. The union sought hours from 8 mm. to 5 p.m., with no work on Saturdays. The employers offered 2s an hour. Proceedings were adjourned to enable the parties to consider their respectiVe claims, in the light of arguments submitted.
