OIL UNDER WANGANUI.

GUSHERS BEING LOCATED THREE ON AVIATION FIELD. (Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. Subsequent to Mr G. McDonald, diviner, of Woodville, declaring, during his Easter visit, that large quantities of oil were under Wanganui, tho city council made representations to the Government to have the matter investigated. In the meantime representatives of the “Wanganui Herald” got into touch with Mr T. Todd, oil and water diviner, of Lepperton, and arranged for him to make a week-end visit and check up on Mr McDonald’s statement. Mr McDonald also came over from Woodville, and both declared that there are wonderful possibilities of oil, at least a dozen gushers being located, three on the airport landing grounds.
