TRIBUTES TO THE EMPEROR.

LONDON, Ma,y 2. The “Sunday Dispatch” pays tribute to Emperor Haile Selassie, as a gallant warrior, skilful statesman, and patriot worthy of the highest rank in history. His. stand agaist modern arms may be -regarded as an inspiring epic of heroism and endurance, and deserves all honour in inevitable defeat. Whereever he seeks refuge, he will be- welcomed. There is no part of the British realm where he would not be afforded a friendly sanctuary.
According to the- diplomatic correspondent of the “Sunday Times,” the Emperor has definitely abdicated, and has transferred control to his Ministers. The Emperor’s sudden change of mind was due to the men on whom he was relying for further efforts refusing to fight.
