{From Our Own Correspondents.) hinds. FAREWELL TQ IIEV. B. TAYLOR. The Rev. B. Taylor, who will leave Hinds on AVednesday, preached his farewell sermon at St. Luke’s Anglican Church cn Easter Sunday morning. There was a very large congregation Special Easter hymns were sung. The church was beautifully decorated with autumn flowers and'greenery. At a farewell to the Rev. B-. Taylor and family, friends gathered from ali the different parishes to do honour to the departing guests, who have been in Hinds for four years. A bouquet was presented to Airs Taylor by the little Misses Rowell and Campbell. , , , TT Air E. AV. A 1 Watson (People’s AVarden) spoke on the good work Air Taylor bad carried out for the church, also for the fine school which he takes. He expressed the hope that Air Taylor would scon be restored to health so that he could take ui> work again. Air Rickard spoke on behalf of the School Committee, the Rev. Air AVnlsh for the Presbyterians, and Mr Clements for Ealing. , Air D-. Studholme (Vicar’s AVarden) endorsed Air AVatson’s remarks, and wished the guests Godspeed and a long life of happiness and prosperity. Mr Barton, on behalf of the Carew people, made a presentation, and Air Stulholme, on behalf of the Hinds people made a presentation, both in the form of a cheque for a substantial amount. A programme was given as follows; Duet, Airs and Aliss AlcKeage; song, Mr Pearce; pianoforte solo, Miss Barton; song, Aliss AT. Morrison:., duet, Mrs Studholme and Aliss Cranford ; song, Air Taylor; recitation, Alaster R. Taylor; recitation, the Rev. Air AValsh. Community singing was led by Airs D. Studholme, Aliss Cranford, and Alaster 11, Taylor. The evening closed with supper. Building of Residence. Another residence is being erected in the township. Horse Killed by Motor-car. A half-draught horse, owned by Air AV. F. Tilson, Hinds, was killed on the Alain South Road near the Hinds township at 10.30 p.m on Sunday, when it was struck by a motor-car driven by Air AlcDougall, of Invercargill. The horse was left in a paddock, and it is not known how R reached the road It was on the side of the road as the motor-car approached, and suddenly plungqd in front of the moving vehicle, and was killed. The front ol the car was slightly damaged.
