COUNTY ENTRANTS’ SUCCESSES. FUNCTION AT FAIRLIE. The following Ashburton competitors were successful at the Mackenzie Highland Show at Fairlie yesterday:— Southdowns—R am, two-shear and over (2): W. J. Early 2. Ram lamb (3): W. J. Earlv 3. Ewe lamb (5): W. J. Earlv 1 and 2.
Lights Horses—Hack to carry 11 ,stone (9): M. Farrell’s Sunny Lad 1. Ponies—Maiden pony, 14 hands and less, to be ricfden (7): J. S'- Lilley s Fire Lad. 1. Mare or gelding, over 14 hands and, under lo hands, to be ridden (5): Miss L. M. Lemon’s Tinker I'. Pony, mare or gelding, 14 hands or under, to be ridden 1(11): J. S. Lilley’s Five Lad 1. Pony, most suitable for polo (5): Miss L. M. Lemon’s Tinker 1. Pony, in harness, 14 hands or under, to be driven (5): J. S. Lilley’s Firelight 1 and champion. Champion harness pony: J. S. Lilley. Best trotting pony, not more than 14 hands or less than 12 hands, rider not over 16 years (9): J. S. Liiley’s Firelight 2. Hunters —Hunter to carry list 71b: M. Farrell’s Sunny Lad 2. Hunter, to carry 13st or more: Misses Lemon’s Armistice 2. Best jumping horse, ridden by gentleman: M. Farrell’s Sunny Lad 1. Lady’s hunter, to be ridden by a lady over fair hunting fences: M.
