TINWALD STOCK MARKET. GOOD QUALITY SHEEP ENTRY. BEST EWES BRING 20s lOd. Improvement in quality was noticeable at the stock market held at the Tinwaid saleyards to-day, but prices on the average remained about the same as those at the Ashburton sale last week. There was a good yarding. 14 The ewe market was topped by a pen of eight sold at 20s 10(1 on account of R. C. Li 1 ley (Lagmhov) for whom several pens were sold, at prices ranging from 17s Id to 20s Jd. The balance of prices ranged from 13s 4d onwards. A lamb sold for a client brought 23s 9d. H. E. Hampton (Tinwaid) had four sold at 22s 4d, prices ranging from 20s 7d to 22s Id in a fair lamb entry. Few wethers were entered, 34 being sold from 19s 4d to 19s lOd. The cattle entry showed an improvement in size. Prices up to noon were: — Fat Ewes—On account of J. W. Lowery (Westerfield), 6 at 14s 7d,, 5 at 14s 4d; Wright’s Estate (Lagmhor), 12 at 16s Id. 5 at 15s Id, 11 at 14s lOd, 9 at 15s lOd, 6 at 15s 4d; R. C. Lilley (Lagmhor), 9 at 17s 4d, 9 at 17s Id, 8 at 20s lOd, 6 at 19s 4d, 12 at 20s 7d; G. Anderson (Maronan), 8 at 16s Id, 10 at 16s Id, 6 at 18s 4d, 10 at 17s 7d, 9 at 16s lOd, 6 at 16s 4d ; A. THE LONDON WOOL SALES. MAINTENANCE OF PRICES. (United Press Association—Copyright! (Received r /his Day, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, March 16. At the wool sales 9480 bales were offered, including 947 New Zealand and 7721 were sold. There was a moderate supply, the quality being below the average. Competition was active, but withdrawals were frequent among low grades, owing to high remits. The Home trade were again the chief buyers, and rates were maintained. New Zealand slipe lialfbred lambs, WMECO, sold up to 16id, with an average of 16£d. * THE BRADFORD WOOL MARKET. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 16. The Bradford wool market is quieter, hut exceedingly firm. Recent business has led to increased output, and prices are hardening. WHEAT MARKET IN BRITAIN. (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, March 16. Wheat cargoes are practically at a standstill in view of the political uncertainty, and are from threepence to sixpence lower. Parcels closed quiet. The futures market is dull and lower. Futures are quoted:—London: March 29s per quarter; July, 29s 9kl. Liverpool: March 6s oj}d per cental; May 6s Ijfd; July, 6s 3RL
