FAIRFIELD WINS COMPETITION. ■ By! defeating Technical on Saturday, the Fairfield Club won the Ashburton County Cricket Association’s senior Association’s senior competition, the club being the winner in both senior and junior grades. The final games were played in a boisterous north-west wind, an abrupt change to southerly in the afternoon making conditions unpleasant. Fairfield defeated Technical by 63 runs in a one innings game on rhe Technical grounds. Batting first, and playing one man short, Fairfield made 123 (N. iPhelan 44, Don McKhy 22). Technical replied with 55, the only player to reach double figures being V. McNicol, who scored 17. The only bowlers for Fairfield were C. Brady and H.
