Played to St. Paul’s Cathedral by the Welsh Guards and Royal Artillery bands, 1400 Old Contemptibles in mufti, with war medals, held, a church parade under the eyes of field marshals, admirals, civic dignatories and the French and Belgium Ambassadors, after which the Lord Mayor took the salute in a march past at Mansion House. Wounded ex-servicemen in bathchairs led the procession, the divisions of which were marked by the massed colours, draped in token of the Royal mourning.
