Mr G. Kelly (clerk to the Ashburton County Council) is on annual holiday. Sir Robert A. Anderson was a passenger on the south-bound express this morning. At tire annual meeting of the Canterbury University College Students’ Association last evening, Mr M. Heenan, of Ashburton, was elected assistant secretary, and ,Mr C. A. Innes a men’s executive officer. Mr Innes is secretary of the Rolleston House Students’ Association. Mr L. B. Thompson, an engineering graduate of Canterbury University College, and a son of Mr and Mrs R. J. Thompson, of Ashburton, has left by the Port Brisbane from Lyttelton to take an engineering apprenticeship with the firm of Metropolitan Vickers, Limited, Manchester.
