THE DARDANELLES.

ATTITUDE OF TURKEY. INFLUENCE OF GERMAN COUP. (United Press Association —Copyright.) LONDON, March 12. The Constantinople correspondent of “The Times” says“ Germany’s Rhineland coup inevitably presents itself to Turkish minds as a test case —because if Germany is permitted to go free, and if Hungary and Bulgaria follows her example, Turkey will owe it to herself to raise again the question of fortifying the Dardanelles. “If the great powers again flout this demand, Turkey will be driven to conclude that only brute force is valid—after which the temptation to take a. leaf from the German book, and confront the world with a fait accompli, will be too strong to resist.”
