TO-DAY’S FORECAST.

(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day. issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General inference: An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand, with the highest pressure over the North Island. A rather deep depression is located over the south-west Tasman Sea. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim, to Oamaru as follows: Light north-easterly to northerly winds, gradually freshening. Weather fine, and becoming warmer. Seas slight to moderate.
