HOUSING SCHEME.

ELIMINATION OF SLUM AREAS. WELLINGTON, March 11. It is not anticipated that action will be taken immediately, as the Government is engaged on matters of greater urgency, hut a start will he made on the scheme at the earliest possible moment. In an interview, the prime Minister (Hen. M. J. Savage) said there would be no jerry building, and there would he an attempt to introduce town planning methods.
