DECISIONS OF THE COMMITTEE.
ARRANGEMENTS WELL IN HAND.
The monthly meeting of the Committee of the Methven Agricultural and Pastoral Association was presided ovei by the president (Mr G. Kelly). Others present were Messrs A. McLeod, C. Watson, W. C. Lowery, i. &• McDonald, L. L. Richards, G. Callaghan LT Grig", A. M. Hart, S. Campbell, J. SteffensT J. Ruddenklau, S. H. Anderson, E. St. C. Hayden, R- J- Low, A. F. Marr, J. Wootton, E. Hampton, A. Geddes, and. A. Goodwin. The draught horse sub-committee reported that a number of stallions had been on offer, and the committee would go south to make a personal mspectlolt was decided to apply to the Ashburton Winter Show Association for the use of poultry pens for the annual show on Saturday!, March 28. The Ashburton Pipe Band wrote accepting the committee’s offer for show day. „ r . , - Messrs T. Masefield, B. C. Goodwin. A. W. Adams, A. Grant, and Miss Bridgeman wrote accepting the positions as judges.The secretary reported that satislactory arrangements for the running of trains and handling of exhibits had been made with the Railway .Department. In connection with the fat lamb section (Class 90a.) Mr Hayden was appointed to make the necessary arrangements, tlie president or a representative to be present at the Freezing Works when the entries are killed. It was decided to bold two working bees on tho Showground prior to tlie Show, and to enlist the assistance of members of the Young Farmers’ Club at these working bees. It was decided to add to the show catalogue in the ring events musical chairs for both adults and children. One new members was elected.
