SPORTS AT HIGH SCHOOL. GIRLS’ EVENTS THIS AFTERNOON The annual athletic sports of girls at the Ashburton High School were held at the school this afternoon. Entries in all events were large, necessitating a. number of heats being run off this morning. Parents and friends weie present during the afternoon, when a long programme was run through expeditiously by members of the staff. The sports were held in connection with a physical training course for the girls while the boys of the school are attending the annual barracks. A display of physical drill to music was given by girls of the fourth, fifth and sixth forms during an interval in the programme, while ail the girls of the school took part in a marching display.
