RUGBY UNION.
THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. CHANGE IN CONSTITUTION MOOTED. PALMERSTON NORTH, March 10. The proposal emanating from Manawatu that there should be a change in the constitution of the New Zealand Rugby Union so that the Management Committee should be more representative oT the whole Dominion, was discussed at a conference of union delegates from various parts of the North Island to-night, when it was agreed that it was desirable in the interests of Rugby that the Management Committee of the- New Zealand Rugby Union should not he confined to. the residents of one Rugby district, hut that as far as practicable it should lie representative of ail parts of New Zealand. It was explained that at present the Management Committee was elected from Wellington solely, that individual unions were totally disfranchised, and that the Management Committee had full control H the exclusion of delegates. Suggested amendments to the constitution to bring about the reform desired was framed.
