CRISIS IN JAPAN.
GENERALS RESIGNING CONTROL BY ARMY DESIRED. (United Press Association—Copyright-) TOKIO, March 6. _ Generals Abe and Minami, all members of the Supreme Army Council have retired. ' General Uyeda, who was commander of the Japanese forces in Shanghai m 1932 replaces General Minami as Com-mander-in-Chief of the Kwantung army and Ambassador to Marfchukuo. General Kawashima, who was Munster of War in the O'kada Cabinet, recommended his own retirement. The fierce conflict behind the scenes between th.e army and civil interests culminated in 'Count Tenarchi s withdrawal of his acceptance of the portfolio of War. ' Armv leaders consider that Mr Hiro- • ta’s tentative Cabinet gives overmuch influence to heavy industry and renders is impossible to carry out the army s military poliev. The army intends to refuse to fill the portfolio of War unless Mr Hirota nominates other Ministers more to the army’s taste. Flight-Captain Know, who was wounded in the attempt to assassinate Coun Makino, Keeper of the (Privy Seal (in the previous Cabinet), committed suicide in hospital.
