Threshing of wheat was resumed at the end of last week, but samples that have come forward are out of condition owing to excess moisture. Slooks aie still very damp. No oats are being threshed as all growers are concentrating on wheat. There is a keener demand for oats, but no improvement in prices, as there are heavy offerings pending. Potatoes are quoted the same as last' week, and it is. still too early in the season for the market to he gauged properly. There is no business from the North Island. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SEASON’S RECORD PRICE. ■ (United Press Association —Copyright.) SYDNEY, February 17. At the wool sales, a/new season’s • record for the Sydney market, 33id, was obtained for five hales of greasy merino. A. total of 10,590 hales was offered, of which 9580 were sold. Beside this, 2318 bales were sold privately. The. market was equal to last week’s best. There were full clearances, and competition was very keen and general. The average, prices last week were £l9 4s 6cl a bale, and 16.1 c! per lb. FROZEN MEAT TRADE. Messrs J. T.
