CALLIOPE DOCK.

TENDER FOR EXTENSION. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, February 11. The tender of Mr W. Williamson, contractor, of Christchurch, of £2489 for the work of' extending the Calliope dock, was accepted by the Auckland Harbour Board to-day. The work, it is stated, will he begun almost immediately. ■ . . The extension of the dock is being made to accommodate the two large new cruisers, H.M.S. Beamier and H.M.S. Achilles, which are shortly to replace H.M.S. Dunedin and H.M.S. Diomede on the Now Zealand naval station.
