WRESTLING.

THE “GHOST” UNMASKED. LURICH WINS BOUT AT SYDNEY. SYDNEY, Feb. 9. Although he was unmasked by Tom Lurich, the “mysterious ghost” is still a wrestling attraction at the Leichhardt Stadium. Prepared for such a contingency as the removal of his mask, the “ghost” had added a disguise of sticking plaster and, covering his face with his hands, he retired to his dressing room as soon as the mask was torn away. Lurich, who had previously announced his intention of unmasking the “ghost,” caused a sensation by declining to enter the ring unless his opponent removed the mask, but he was eventually persuaded to go on with the bout. While Lurich divided his attention between attempts to obtain a fall and to remove the mask, his opponent concentrated on the former, gaining a fall with a short-arm scissors in the second round. In the fourth round Lurich obtained a fall with a body scissors, and immediately afterwards tore the mask from the “ghost’s” face. The “ghost” thereupon refused to continue, and the contest was awarded to Lurich.
