THE LATE MR HARDY.

LOSS TO HOSPITAL BOARD. SERVICE TO THE RATEPAYERS. “Since our last meeting, the Boatd has suffered a severe loss by the death of the late Mr George Hardy,” said the chairman of the Ashburton Hospital Board‘this morning before the Board proceeded with its business. “Mr Hardy was a member of the Board for eleven years,” he added, “and gave faithful service to the ratepayers. He always took a very keen interest in the work of the Hospital and as chairman of tho building committee .gave very careful consideration to all expenditure. During recent years his health has been bad, and only his indominitable spirit enabled him to attend meetings, where his advice was very valuable.” The following motion was carried in silence: — “That this meeting place on record its deep regret at the death of tlie late Mr George H'ardy and tenders to ill's Hardy' and the relatives, their sincere sympathy with them in their great loss.”
