TINWALD STOCK MARKET. THE CONCLUDING SALES The following were the sales of freezing pens at the Tinwald stock market yesterday:— Fat Ewes: —On account of clients, 23 at 11s 4d, 42 at 11s 7d, 18 at 10s 4d to 12s Id, 71 at 11s 7d, 118 at 12s lid, 30 at 11s 2d. Fat Lambs —On account of clients, 29 at 21s, 3l at 11s 7d, 3 at 22s Id to 22s 6d, 71 at 21s to 26s lOd, 49 at 21s Id, 72 at 20s 4d, 29 mixed sex rape lambs at 15s sd, 191 at 17s Id; on account of J. Campbell (Woodrow) 50 wether rape lambs at 17s, 145 at 16s ’9d. Fat Wethers—On account of client, 6 at 20s ,4d. The following were sales of store sheep:— Store Ewes—On account of client, 154 rape ewes at 5s Id, 111 at 4s, 54 at Is lid, 130 at 5s Id, 96 at 6s 3d. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. KEEN GENERAL DEMAND. SYDNEY, February 4. At the wool sales 11,369 bales were offered, 10,299 were sold at auction, and 1329 privately. Competition was keen and general, especially for well-grown descriptions, and the recent improvement in values was maintained,. Very full and satisfactory clearances were made. Medium to coarse crossbreds of top-making descriptions were irregular, ruling in buyers’ favour. ' Greasy merino made to 23d. AUCKLAND WOOL CHEQUE. DOUBLE THAT OF LAST YEAR. AUCKLAND, February 4. It is estimated that the second Auckland wool sale of the season, held on January 21, was worth from £300,000 to £325,000 to growers in the province. It compared with £169,096 realised at the second Auckland sale last season, and £455,455 at the exceptionally good sale in January, 1934. The cheque for the first sale of the

current season, in December, was £240,154. The proceeds of the two sales so far held thus amount to> about £550,000. Last season the first two sales returned £256,346 and in 1933-34 £783,149. THE BRADFORD WOOL MARKET. LONDON, February 3. Bradford topmakers are adhering to their refusal to make concessions, but users are not disposed to buy at the present rates. The market is consequently quiet. The consumption of yarns is well maintained, and quotations are firm. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. AUCKLAND. Potatoes are available in large quantities from Fukekohe at 3s a sugarbag or £4 los a ton, on rail. Onions are plentiful at £5 10s a ton on rail, Pukekohe. Maize is scarce and dear at 6s 9d a bushel. Pollard is in short supply, the mill price being £6 10s a ton. Bran is quoted at £6. Chaff is unchanged at £8 2s 6d a ton. WHEAT PRICES IN BRITAIN. LONDON, February 3. Wheat are easier. Parcels are steady. Futures are quoted: — London: March, 30s per quarter; July, 30s 2id. Liverpool: March, 6s 3gd per cental; May, 6s 2|d; July, 6s 2fd. CHICAGO WHEAT QUOTATIONS. NEW YORK, February 3. Chicago wheat quotations are : May, 99| cents a bushel; July, 88i; September, 87|.
