decisions of road board. The monthly meeting of the Mount Hutt Road Board was litdd yesterday. There were present Messrs A. I. ‘ (chairman), C. A. Campion, • ton J. G. A. Ruddenklau. The clerk reported that the crushing plant was still operating at Cairnbrae 183 cubic yards of shingle haling delivered and spread. Repairs to Long s and Waimarama roads had been completed, while maintenance work had been attended to in the township streets. Grading of roads m the Spungfield pole line and Thompson track roads had been completed. Rates had come in well during the month and a total of £730 3s 10d had been paid to The clerk reported that under the No. 5 Scheme the number of men employed was considerably reduced. Eleven men bad been given work and the amount paid for tlie month was £OO making a total of £1136 7s since the commencement of the scheme. Transfers from assignees of estate of W. B. Stringer to Mrs L. S. Breach, E. -S. Forrest to Alice J. McGirr, M. Aitken to W. Aitken and W. Aitken to Neil Iv. Aitken were approved. It was decided that the last day lor payment of rates be Friday, Februaiy 28!
