MILITARY ROADS.
SWIFT TRANSPORT IN GERMANY. FRENCH WRITER’S CONCERN, (United Press Association—Copyright.) PARIS, Feb. 3. General Servigny, a former Deputy and former chief of the General Staff, devotes an article in the “Revue des Deux Mondes” to Germany’s development of strategic roads for motor transport* and emphasises the increase in the number of 50-ton lorries for which special roads are being constructed. It is expected that 1200 miles of these roads will be completed by the end of the year, leading to the French, Belgian, and Polish frontiers. They will be capable of delivering 72,000 soldiers an hour to any given point, enabling tho transport of mechanised armies with a speed hitherto unknown.
