GRAIN AND PRODUCE. CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS. (Special to the "Guardian.") CHPJSTCHURCH, January 16. As the grain season approaches, quotations are beginning to .appear for various varieties. The general indications are that crops will be large, and with the carry-over in some cases, prices will be fairly low. Ryegrass samples are of good quality and indications are for a big crop. There is also a large carry-over from last year. • The cocksfoot crop is expected to be late and there will not be any in store for about a month. It is anticipated that the crop this season will be better than last year. - Red clover prices will probably be low this season as there is a good crop ' and a large carry-over. A smaller crop of white clover is expected, but Fescue and crested dog-tail varieties are looking well in the south. Quotations for oats are now being made. Algerians are of very good quality. Potatoes are quoted for April, May, June delivery at £3 to £3 os ex country stations and £4 10s f.o.b. Following are other quotations: — Ryegrass—ltalian, Is 6d (on trucks) ; perennial, Is 6Jd. The New Zealand Dairy Board has fixed the minimum price for f.o.b. ana c-i f sales on the,bases of butter lid and cheese s£d- These minimum prices are subject to agents' selling commission of li per cent., and are equivalent to butter 89s Id c.i.f.e. and cheese 49b 7d c.i.f.e. NEW ZEALAND REFRIGERATING COMPANY. DIVIDEND OF 5h PER CENT. The annual accounts of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, Ltd., will he issued to shareholders shortly, showing an amount of £104,843 lisi 9d available for appropriation, including £29,173 3s 2d brought forward from last year. The directors recommend a dividend of 5J per cent., writing off

buildings and plant in addition to the provision already made, £20,000, restoring the rebuilding reserve of £20,000, and carrying forward £29,846 10s 9d. „ ~ , The balance available for appropriation last year was £124,170 4s 2d, including £33,217 12s 8d brought in.
