FARM LABOUR.
WAGES AND CONDITIONS. (Per Preßa Association). WELLINGTON, January 16. The Dominion Farmers' Union had a conference with the Minister of Labour, who js also Minister of Employment, over the provision of farm labour. The result of the deliberation is that a sub-committee is to be appointed by the Farmers' Union to bring down proposals and consult with the Government. The conference discussed conditions of employment on farms and what would be considered reasonable rates of pay. It also discussed the transport of workers in seasonal occupations and the'demand for labour for seasonal as well as permanent work.
