DECISIONS OF THE COMMITTEE. PROPOSED PRIZE SCHEDULE. The monthly meeting of the cojmnittee of the Methven Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held last evening, the president (Mr G. Kelly) being in the chair. Others present were Messrs A. McLeod, L. L. Richards, E. S. McDonald, W. E. Hampton, S. Hampton, C. C. Winn, J. McDonald, G. Callaghan, W. K. Wilson, S. H. Anderson, S. Campbell, E. T. Grigg, A. M. Hart, J. Campbell, A. Geclclies, G. Geddes, C. H.' Watson, E. St. C Haydon, J. F. Ruddenklau, B. J. Steffens, R, F. Smith, J. Wootton, R, J. Low and A. Goodwin. A motion of sympathy with Mr F. A. Bland in the death of his mother was carried in silence. Mr Ruddenklau announced that he had received from Mr W. C. Chamberlain an offer of two special prizes ot one gu.nea each, for the best yearling foal cold or filly by Idanhoe Prince. The offer was accepted. ' The Draught Horse Sub-Committee reported that it had decided to award the Clydesdale Society's medal this year to the champion colt yearling or two-year-old . It was decided to advertise immediately for a draught stallion for the district for the coming season. (In the recommendation of the finance sub-committee it was decided to restore the 10 per cent cut made some years ago in the secretary’s salary. An application, for space for a sideshow was granted. The secretary reported that lie had received many additional special prizes. The Ashburton Dairy Company advised that it would donate a ribbon .<sr the champion dairy cow at the shoTr and in addition the sum of one guinea. The sub-committee appointed to deal with tlie schedule of prizes brought forward a number of suggested alterations and it was agreed to discuss these suggestions "wlien the proof of the schedule was received from the printers. The president, vice-president and secretary were appointed a sub-committee to go into the matter of providing seating accommodation round the show ring and to report at the next meeting. One new member was elected.
