COUNTY CENTRES

(From Our Own Correspondent.) LAURISTON. The January meeting of the Lauristcn branch, of the New Zealand Fanners’ Union was well attended, the president (Mr V. Wilkinson) being in the chair. A discussion took place on the congestion at the Lauriston railway trucking yards, and it was decided to write to the Railway Department asking it to rectify the present inconvenience to Lauriston stock owners. Mr A. EL Flay gave an interesting address on “Irrigation in Farm Practice.” Particular interest was taken in this address, because of the new irrigation scheme which will affect certain Lauriston farms. Mr Flay dealt fully with the subject, referring to results obtained at the Seafield irrigation farm. At the conclusion of his address Mr Flay answered many questions.
