CABINET AT WORK
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. CURRENCY AND BANKING. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. Sub-committees of the Cabinet met to-day to deal with, tasks allotted to them. . Their work early this afternoon had not progressed beyond the preliminary stage, and until something conclusive is reached no statement can be expected, according to the Prime Minister (Mr Savage). Much depends on the Finance Committee, which devoted most of to-day ,to examining questions of currency and banking, a job that involved reference to numerous international authorities. The question of necessary changes in the existing law necessary to enable the Government to proceed along its new lines was also considered.
