GRAIN AND PRODUCE. CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS. CHRISTCHURCH, January 9. Although, harvesting has been going on in parts of the country for the past two or three weeks, samples of grain have not yet come to hand, so that no prices can be quoted. Oat samples are expected next week. The only quotations for potatoes up to the present are £3 5s on trucks i>r the April-June delivery. The following produce prices are quoted:— Bran—Local, £4 15s; shipping, £4 10s. • Pollard—Local, £5 15s; shipping, £5. Flour —Local, £l2 7s; shipping, £ll 12s, with the usual increments for smaller lots. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. SYDNEY, January 9.' Wheat—Country sidings, bagged and bulk, 3s equal to about 3s 8d ex trucks. SYDNEY WOOL SALESL FIRMING TENDENCY CONTINUES. SYDNEY, January 9. At the wool sales 12,000 bales were offered, 11,477 sold, and 1697 disposed of privately. The lirmer tendeny continued, and the range of values now shows an advance of 5 to 7£ per cent, on the closing rates before Christmas. Greasy merino sold to 26d. The average price of wool during
the first three, days this week was 14.8 d per lb or £l7 17s 6di a bale.
