THE WEATHER.
DULL AND. COOL CONDITIONS. The weather in Ashburton to-day was dull and cool. The sky was heavily clouded and a light breeze blew from the south-east. The maximum temperature yesterday was 68 degrees and the minimum last night 54.3 degrees. * The barometric pressure at 9 o’clock this morning was 29.76 inches, compared with 29.61 yesterday morning.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — General inference: The recent disturbance is moving slowly eastward, but another shallow depression is advancing across the Tasman Sea. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: — Light to moderate south-westerly winds, later again veering northerly. Weather fair to cloudy. Temperatures moderate to warm. Seas slight to moderate.
