THE WEATHER.
MILD CONDITIONS TO-DAY. The weather in Ashburton to-day was warm and mild, the sky being cloudy. A light north-westerly breeze was blowing. After two points of rain had fallen after 9 o’clock yesterday morning, making a total of. 11 points, the day cleared. Thje maximum temperature reached 61 degrees, and the minimum last night was 62.6 degrees. The barometer shows little movement, pressure at 9 o’clock this morning being 30.10 inches. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is ns follows: — General inference: There has been little change in the situation. A rather intense anticyclone is still covering the Tasman Sea and New Zealand. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— Forecast: Light to moderate southerly winds, becoming variable and later northerlies predominating. Weather fair to fine and warmer. Seas slight to moderate.
